Bonner Black, the classically trained ballerina turned singer/songwriter from Hot Rock, TN, began her life on stage at age 4. In her early teen years, Black taught herself to play guitar using YouTube videos and, by the time she was in 9th grade, she was writing and performing in Nashville 3 to 5 days per week, made possible by homeschooling. At seventeen, Black moved to Nashville to continue honing her craft and embarked on her first regional tour throughout the Southeast. During that time, Black participated in four lobbying trips with NSAI to Washington, DC to advocate for songwriters and copyright law reform. In 2016, she was awarded the Artist Entrepreneur Award by The Oxford Center of Entrepreneurs at The Times Center in New York City. With over 500 shows under her belt, Black has opened for acts like The Bellamy Brothers, Charlie Daniels, and The Band Perry, and has been a regular at Nashville's most popular songwriter venues, The Bluebird Cafe and The Listening Room.
Today, Black's music springs from many facets like rainbows of light and color showcasing her Southern roots blended with catchy melodies and lyrics. As an independent artist, Black has amassed over 423.6k streams across all platforms while cultivating an enthusiastic and engaged fan base and online community. Black's debut EP Out Of Dreams was released May 6, 2022 and tells stories of lost love with sharp lyrics overlaying sweet melodies. 'Light Me Up' landed on Spotify's Today's Singer-Songwriter playlist, was featured on People.com, and is her most streamed single to date. 'Midnight Blue' brought about Black's first Apple Music playlists with New in Singer/Songwriter and Breaking Singer/Songwriter. Both of these songs, as well as 'The Old Way', were also featured by renowned indie tastemaker, Alex Rainbird. It's impossible to remain unmoved as you work your way through the Out Of Dreams EP capped at the end by 'The Old Way', the cliffhanger for what to expect on Black's next project, the first single of which, titled
'Breaking a Sweat', is available for streaming now!
