This is a part-time, 15-20 hour per week, position. The weekly schedule is flexible based on the events schedule and needs of the CSPS programs. The Events Manager will work closely with event volunteers and report to the Executive Director. Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with artists at CSPS to ensure a professional experience for artists and audiences alike
- Run sound and/or lighting for performances as necessary
- Suggest upgrades to technical equipment as funds become available
- Advise the Executive Director if technical needs can be met when contracting artists
- Work to maintain expert working knowledge of Sound and Lighting systems at CSPS
- Create and Implement standardized best practices for technical work at CSPS, including professional and safety standards.
- Make sure the venue is ready for shows and events.
- Maintain, repair, inventory, and organize all technical equipment of CSPS
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise event volunteers
- Assist the Visual Arts Coordinator with technical aspects of the Visual Arts program as necessary
Location & Commitments
- 1-3 events per week
- Events hours are usually 4pm-11pm
- Additional hours for event preparation and communications are flexible
Qualifications
- Experience working with artists and performers
- Working knowledge of professional sound and lighting practices
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently
- Ability to climb ladders and work with heights
Schedule
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
