The CSPS Thursday Songwriters series is a showcase of talented acoustic songwriters with Iowa connections. Featuring performers with diverse life experiences, musical backgrounds, and genres there is guaranteed to be something for everyone. The show is hosted by Cedar Rapids native and veteran performer Kimberli Maloy.
Alma Drake (Coralville) Acoustic singer-songwriter
Alma Drake has been a professional guitarist and songwriter for over 40 years, and has recently semi-retired from performing. They are currently the Band Director of Iowa City's Family Folk Machine. Their new recording, "The Light You Can't See In the Day," is available at almadrake.bandcamp.com. Alma is also a certified sound healing practitioner.
Central Standard Time (IOWA CITY) Folk/Acoustic
Singer/songwriters Matt Hibbard and Charlie Rod have been playing together as Central Standard Time for over two decades. Their music is about life, family, nature, and taking the river road home once in a while, and it's built on intricately layered guitar & fluid vocal harmonies.

Drew Hayward loves writing songs about things that both challenge and inspire. He has been performing in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area since the early 2000s, and has released four albums of original material.
Jarrod Hogan & Chad McCleary (Rock/Country) Marion/Muscatine
Around a decade ago, Jarrod & Chad forged a lasting friendship when they joined the same band, and their musical chemistry soon became evident. Together, they ventured into the world of original music, forming their own band and captivating audiences across Iowa with a blend of personal stories and imaginative tales woven into song.
This is a General Admission seated show held in the theater of CSPS Hall. Doors will open 1 hour before showtime.
