Heads of State was a vision set in motion by EJ Swavv highlighting and showcasing the talent by some of the best entertainers in Iowa, some who are well known in the state and some that may be underrated! In this show you can expect high quality and top tier musicianship through some songs you may know and some that might be new and refreshing in cabaret style fashion. For Volume 2 the front men don't disappoint; Layton White, Lincoln Ginsberg, Daren Barker, and Dillion Rairdin.
Lincoln Ginsberg is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with nearly a decade of musical influence in Eastern Iowa, collaborating with acts like Wylde Nept, Alisabeth Von Prseley, and Craig Erickson. Raised immersed in music, Lincoln's passion for performing started in childhood. After graduating from Washington High School in 2016, he studied Vocal Performance at McNally Smith College of Music before the school's closure in 2017. Returning to Cedar Rapids, he brought with him a deeper musical insight and renewed passion.
Daren Barker is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from Cedar Rapids, IA. Raised in a musical family, he began singing harmonies with his mother and grandmother and started playing guitar at age 14. By 2009, he was performing live across Iowa, and later studied music at Kirkwood College, singing in an acapella jazz ensemble. Daren has since performed throughout Iowa and beyond, currently touring as lead vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist with New Trick: Iowa's Classic Rock Band, and also performing with his wife in Faux Doubt: A Tribute to No Doubt.
Dillion Rairdin is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Marion, IA. In addition to recording with his band treesreach, he teaches and works as a music director at School of Rock in Marion and enjoys taking on freelance music composition work. He has been playing in bands nonstop for the past 15 years and has enjoyed (almost) every second of it. Dillion's favorite music includes that of Fleet Fozes, Tom Misch, Led Zeppelin, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gustav Holst, and Bill Evans.
Layton White's passion for performance began early, with roles in choir, musical theatre, and local theatres like TCR and The Englert. As a teenerage, he shifted his focus to writing music and lyrics, recording and performing his original material across the Midwest. Recently, he's been seen in productions at Brucemore and performing with his soft rock cover band, Fork In The Road. Layton also plays with his indie rock band Duchess, post-hardcore group From Where I Stand, and as his alter-ego, Mr. White. With multiple projects on the horizon, Layton's audiences can always expect something uniquely imaginative when he takes the stage.
