237 Collective is creating space for emerging and underrepresented artists in Iowa. 237 Collective is a local art gallery and spray paint shop in Cedar Rapids, Iowa which hosts art classes, workshops, markets and seasonal fashion shows.
The Drywall Art Show is an exhibition by Wesley Jericho and Spike Dupree. Using the paintings to not only reflect but shed light, this collection dives into subjects surrounding addiction and the manifestations of the impact addiction has on the psyche.
Spike Dupree is an American artist from Chicago, IL currently residing in Cedar Rapids. He's a multimedia artist who categorizes his art as abstract expressionalism. He likes to bring forth not just his experience as a Black American but also bring forth other sentiments in his work.
Wesley Jericho is an American self-taught artist. He uses different materials such as acrylic and oil paint, chalk, oil pastels, and gel sticks in his works. He started to take painting seriously after falling into a deep depression and found that instead of suffering in silence he could put that pain on a canvas.
