American guitarist and composer Liz Hogg has captured attention with her dynamic and original approach, touring eleven countries and performing at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and Casa da Musica. Critics have lauded her as “uniquely her own, writing independent music that doesn’t reflect the trends” (I Heart Noise), while her playing is praised as “strong, precise, and powerful” (Bushwick Music Daily), featuring a “more distinctive and original approach that includes quickly-strummed chords, chiming arpeggios, and rapid-fire picking” (Geoff Cabin). An award-winning musician who was the first American to win a performance fellowship at the Lanciano International Guitar Festival in Italy, Hogg is a prolific artist with nine full-length albums and a diverse repertoire–from premiering her mostly-eclectic works to performing on a variety of instruments like mandolin and theorbo, with her recordings garnering reviews from The New York Times and NME.
Jake Stack is a singer-songwriter whose journey through life has been as dynamic as his music.
Growing up, Jake and his friends started a punk rock garage band (The Unincorporated) while simultaneously pursuing his passion for hockey, playing as a goaltender for teams throughout the country. When his hockey career ended, Jake found himself drawn towards another lifelong passion: music.
Transitioning from the rink to the stage, Jake dedicated himself to honing his craft as a musician. He delved into songwriting, pouring his experiences and complicated emotions into heartfelt and relatable compositions. Alongside his pursuit of music, Jake earned a bachelors degree in psychology and philosophy - whose influences are clearly present in his work.
Today, Jake is known for his engaging and personal performances of original songs that blend elements of punk, folk, and indie rock. Beyond the stage, he shares his musical knowledge by teaching guitar and offering private hockey coaching to young athletes.
But Jake is not just about music and sports; he’s also a champion of personal growth and resilience. He openly discussed his struggles with mental health and alcohol use. Through his music and his candid honesty, Jake aims to challenge societal norms and shed light on the challenges people face in today’s world.
With his authenticity, passion, and dedication to both his art and his community, Jake hopes to inspire others to pursue their passion and prioritize their mental health on their own unique journeys.
