Volunteer Opportunities

CSPS volunteers are an essential part of our ability to fulfill our mission to build community through the presentation, advocacy and support of the arts, music, and theater.

SPECIAL PERKS

Volunteers attend events for free while volunteering, or they may choose to commit to longer-term projects. We also offer discounted tickets for your friends or family members to see events you are volunteering for.

VOLUNTEER ROLES

No special skills are required to volunteer with us. All you need is a good attitude and a love of the arts. Volunteer positions include:

Greeter. Stand by the building entrance to help welcome guests to the building and direct them to the box office and theater.
Bartender. Assist behind the bar before the show and during intermission.
Usher. Stand at the entrance to the theater, check tickets and hand out programs.
Floating Volunteer. This volunteer will be directed to fill any of the above roles when additional help is necessary.
Lighting Tech. Assist with lighting setup, cues, and adjustments during performances.
Soundboard Operator. Operate the soundboard during performances to balance microphones, instruments, and playback levels.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Are you interested in learning more about audio engineering or light design? We have expert senior volunteers who can teach you these skills. Already have technical skills, and looking to pad your resume? We’ll give you the professional theater experience you need.

How to Sign Up to Volunteer

We're so excited to have you join our amazing volunteer team supporting the arts at CSPS! Please follow the steps below to sign up for your first shift.

Follow this link to access our Volunteer Portal. (The link is also at the top of this page.)
If you already have an account, enter your login and password and click Log in; otherwise click the 'X' in the top right corner to begin registration.
Next, check the box(es) for the event(s) you would like to volunteer for and click "Next."
On the next screen, select the shift and role you would like to volunteer for at the event. (Note, if you selected multiple events, you will be able to select your role for each.) Click "Next."
On the next screen you will enter your name and contact information. We'll also ask you a few questions about your volunteer interests and what types of art you would like to see on the stage and in the galleries at CSPS.
Click "Submit" and that's it! If you have any questions before your shift, please send us a note at volunteer@cspshall.org.
