I am an abstract, mixed media artist and creative educator. I, with the help of my husband, Mark, have created a wonderful small gallery filled with incredible local artists.
Painting brings me peace to focus on the beauty in the world and the grace I feel while living in it. My highest goal is to convey the same peace to my viewer. Stirring a feeling or a memory. One that they can take home to cherish.
I enjoy teaching that same creativity to others. Seeing that light appear in the student eyes when they grasp the concept and recognize they have advanced one more step in their artistic journey.
This collection reflects the moments that shape my art—the quiet, the turbulence, the joyful, and the deeply personal. Each painting tells a story rooted in observation, emotion, and the belief that beauty exists even in life’s most difficult seasons.
The Midwestern landscape reminds me of resilience, where powerful storms roll across fields yet leave behind renewed growth and hope. Portraits of mothers, children, and contemplative figures explore the tenderness of human connection allowing me to invite viewers into moments of vulnerability, love, and quiet reflection. The mixed-media work speaks to our shared experiences of uncertainty, reminding us that beneath the noise of the world, there is compassion and that healing endures. Peaceful birch trees rising from still waters offer a place of rest—a visual pause where nature becomes a sanctuary.
Though the subjects vary, they are united by a common thread: the search for light and color. Whether found in dramatic skies, a parent’s embrace, the strength to persevere, or the stillness of nature, each work is an invitation to slow down, reflect, and discover meaning in ordinary moments.
As an artist, I hope these paintings do more than decorate a wall. I hope they create conversations, awaken memories, and offer comfort. Art has the power to connect us beyond words, reminding us that every person carries a story worth sharing.
This exhibition celebrates resilience, hope, and humanity—an invitation to find beauty not only in the finished painting, but also in the journey that created it.
